MSF INTERVIEWS ENY JAKI!
Q: We know you from your various projects, shoots, shows, and campaigns... Who are you behind the camera? When there are no lights, screens, or people around?
ENY: I feel like this is such a diverse and hard question to answer, hehehehe. I am a mom, artist, yogi, entrepreneur, sister, daughter, friend, and lover, party girl... depending on the time of the day or who I am with.
I feel like I am a nomad exploring the world with an open heart and eyes. I feel like I am a poet sometimes, a warrior when the days are dark.
I feel like a chameleon. I can easily adapt to situations and people. I think I am a free spirit...
Hehehehe.
Q: What challenges or joys do you find in balancing creativity and motherhood? Is there any piece of advice you could give to young mothers in the industry?
ENY: It’s both challenging and joyful to be a mother. For me, one of the biggest challenges is that I am a single mom, and my job requires a lot of traveling and uncertainty, which makes it hard to plan anything and stay anywhere permanently. Hence, I do not get to be with my son most of the time, at least now—in my active years.
I try to give as much attention as I can when I am with my son. And it is absolutely replenishing and joyful to be around him. The time I spend with my family and son is really nurturing and grounding to me.
Creatively, giving birth to my son made me see things from a lot of different angles.
It is truly beautiful that I had him when I was 20, and at that time I never thought I could work as a model again when I got pregnant, but no, it was the opposite—he gave me strength and passion. Because of him, I can never give up.
Q: Now, a simple one. Where do you feel most at peace?
ENY: I think I feel the most peace when I am around my son. Also, spending time on my yoga mat every morning makes me feel really centered and in balance with my body.
Q: When will we see your next big project, and what can we look forward to? Give us some spicy details!!
ENY: I have shot quite a few music videos at the end of 2024 with my friends in Berlin, who really inspire me creatively. I am very excited to see the results. I just love, love to work with friends; it’s just magic in the making.
Also, I've just moved to LA to study acting, which is a long-awaited dream of mine. I am finally ready to start my acting career and to explore my creativity. So you will see me on big screens hopefully very, very soon!
Q: Lastly, why is sustainability or environmental awareness significant to you as an artist, a mother, and an individual, specifically in 2025?
ENY: It’s saddening to see the place we shot the pictures in this story got completely destroyed by the massive fire just a few days after. Which really makes me think of global warming and makes me think of the ways I can be more thoughtful when it comes to consuming... As I am now getting mature, I try not to buy new clothes, especially fast fashion—vintage clothes are the best anyway.
